Hi,

I think I have hair loss problem. Anyone can help? or know someone that can help?

I have curly and frizzy hair. Think of get it straightened but not sure whether it will make the hair loss even worse or not.

What should I do with my hair? or does someone know a good salon that has good hair treatment for hair loss?

Appreciate your help. Thanks!!

Dear Hopefaith

First of all, I would advise you to determine why you are suffering from hair loss, Is it hereditary, stress, post natal, reaction to medication, diet, or just natural hair loss due to our own bodies cycles? [We malt just like animals].

Please see a doctor if you are unduly worried, or pop into Mannings, and look for the Doctors choice brand, they have a terrific Hair vitamin product that I recommend to many clients with great results. It can substantially reduce hair loss within a month.

Alternatively, ‘Nioxin’ is a world leader in hair loss shampoo’s and treatments; again I have seen great results from clients using this.

There are fundamentally two types of straightening: One is to relax the hair; this does not smooth the hair as much as it reduces the curl by various degrees [depending on need].

The hair remains relatively curly and slightly frizzy, but is easier to blow dry and will be more humidity tolerant. It looks more natural.

The other method is ION straightening: This will smooth the hair into a straight form, but does not offer too much body to the hair, [more people opt for a blow-dried technique during the process rather than using the flat irons, as this does slightly give more body]

Whether you should consider this whilst suffering from hair loss is debatable.

My advise is first find out why your hair is falling out, try to strengthen and reduce the fall out, then seek a professional hairdressers opinion on your straightening options.

Feel free to pop in if you want a chat or consultation.

Best regards

Philip George
