It really depends what you're using it for. Of course it's better to have a larger screen and a retina display for movies and games but if those are not your thing and you're just using it to surf the web, email and reading eBooks then the iPad mini might be up your alley.


I for one feel the iPad mini is overpriced for what you get. There are a few other tablets that have faster processors and nicer screens for less money. One is the Nexus 7 32gb that you can pick up at fortress for $2398. It has a faster processor, more storage, more DPI, a screen that will play HD video and a cheaper price. It's also is CNET's editor's choice for small tablets. If you check out prices around you may even get for under $2200hkd.


But of course if you opt for the new iPad you're gonna get a fast tablet with a beautiful retina screen. Not many other 10" tablets can match it for value. Plus they're are in stock compared to the iPad mini which you need to wait 2 weeks if you order through the Apple store. If you want one sooner then you need to pay two to a few hundred dollar premium through some sellers in HK.
