Change from HK Domestic Helper to Dependant Visa

Hi,


would be grateful for any advise or opinion.


My girlfriend (thai) and me (german) are getting married in Germany at the end of August. I am in HK since August 2005 on an employment visa, whilst she joint me/has been living here with me since February 2007 as my domestic helper (visa) employed by me.


So far so good, but I have so far not managed to get satisfactory advise from the HK Immigration, how to handle the change of her status.


We are both around 30ish, have both never been married, no children.


Shall we cancel her employment before we get married, then fly back to HK and she enters on a tourist visa and we apply for a dependant visa after we have managed to get a new passport in her last name?


OR


Shall we just get married in Germany, come back together and ask for a change from DH to Dependant Visa.


Obviously the result should be the same but we are slightly concerned about


a) either choice causing problems, which we could easily have been avoiding earlier


OR


b) any legal problems we may expect as to why she has been staying with me (having been a bachelor and alone in HK before) as my DH, which could result in accusing us of having given 'false information'.
