Toslink (optical Audio) converter

Hi All,


I have the new Apple TV which I need to connect to my HiFi and TV. But Apple TV only has a Optical Audio (Toslink) out while my HiFi has a RCA in and Tv has a 3.5mm jack in. (HiFi and TV do not have HDMI in) So I need a Toslink to Coaxial or RCA or 3.5mm Jack Converter


Does anyone know if any converter is available in HK for this (and where in HK). I have a spotted a couple on the web in Australia and US but not here.


Any help to solve the problem is welcome

If that coax you mention is optical coax I recommend you go with that. You'll lose a lot going to RCA or (shudder) 3.5mm.


I'd go to the computer centres and ask. For example in the Wan Chai Computer Centre there's a place that specializes in home theatre on the second floor.


If you can't find it there, head over to Sham Shui Po. Golden Arcade seems to have "everything". There's also a nice cluster of HiFi shops in the Yau Shing Commercial Centre in Mong Kok.

Use Mini DAC SD-1305 - It has a Optical Audio & a Coax IN and RCA & 3.5mm OUT. sells for about HKD350.

There's a store on Des Voeux Road, southern side a block or two east of Wing Lok Street, that has DACs. It's on the first floor but signed on the street as HiFi something.
