How can a modern supermarket chain run out of potatoes.


I'll tell you how - by being managed by a bunch of complacent morons who would not last 5 minutes if they were asked to operate in a market with proper competition.

Try eating rice. It's much better for you, particularly brown rice.

i've had "we've run out of lemons" before

All supermarket stores sell all basic provisions inc. potatoes (sometimes) so the rice comment is pointless.


I've also had 'we've sold of out of limes' only to go 1 mile down the road to the next store to find a shelf full covered in yellow stickers.
