Does anyone know where I can buy a bed and a hard mattress in good quality?

Try Wing On in Sheung Wan or Sogo in causway Bay - neither are cheap but do have good quality beds. I don't know about the hardness of mattresses in Ikea, but we had a couple of bunk bed mattresses from them and they have been fine.
