Toxic Smell with New Furniture

Hi Everyone,

I am having trouble with a new custom made bed. It smells seriously toxic and I have been airing it for 2 months meanwhile sleeping on the sofa. It doesn't seem to go away. I'm suspecting formaldehyde and want to get rid of it.

My friend suggested CT Catalyst service, which promises to rid of these nasty smells. However I searched the web and seems all of these services are based in Hong Kong with no reference in the US or Europe. I'm skeptical whether this service actually works.

Anyone had experience with this?

Thanks

Dear Sir/Madam,

Try wrapping charcoal in a newspaper or put small pieces in a bowl (you can buy from the supermarket, the black stuff used to start a BBQ) and leave in it in the 4 corners of the room for a few days and the smell will vanish.

Also you may contact Hobbs & Bishop Tel 2537 9838. They sell furntiture products.

Hope the above helps

Try coffee grinds.. (Used or unused okay!) just leave them around the room, and the smell will go away! You can try your neighborhood cafe, sometimes they will give you their "used coffee grinds" for free..

keep around 4 dishes of them.. they will be gone within the day! Good luck!!
