I have recived a verbal notice from my landlord via the estate agent to move out but no written notice as stated in the contract. Do I move out without the written notice or do i stay put and keep on paying the rent till my contract expires in 3 months and then move out? My main concern is that if i move out without the written notice, the landlord may sue for rent for the remaining months on the contract and keep the depoist by stating no notice has been given.

How many months notice is required and what does the contract say exactly with regard to termination and giving of notice?
If the Landlord hasn't complied with the contract then notice isn't valid. You can either inform him that notice wasn't given properly in which case he'll give it again properly, or wait a month more if the cut off date has passed for giving notice as originally intended.

Contract was for 2 years with one month written notice by either side. Since the verbal notice was issued by the landlord agent some 3 weeks ago i will just stay put untill i receive a wriiten notice signed by the landlord and make sure the written notice is dated on the day i receive it and agree to it.

How many months rent deposit does he have from you? I suspect two, in which case, don't pay any rent from now on and move out at the end of the two months. You would only be going one month early, and I am assuming you don't want to stay with this Landlord anyway.
It also means that you don't have to fret whether he will give you the deposit back. It means you can save the rent you should be paying for your next deposit at a new place.
Even if he then argues that because you have stopped paying rent he can evict you. He cannot. At least not within the two months. It takes several months in HK to evict.
