In 2006 I stayed just up the road at Mirador Mansions for a few days, which is quite similar to Chungking Mansions. Nonetheless, I have to say I was both fascinated and bewildered by all the shops and traders there. I'm not sure I've ever seen a better representation of the term "melting pot".

Wow, 6 months is ages in a place like that! any weird experiences? I stayed there for only a week or so during interviews. I became kind of intrigued by the place and actually debated living there even when working just for the adventure...but then i just rented a flat in mid levels like everybody else.
