I've not seen anything definitive re: whether cashing in MPF accrued benefits based on permanent departure affects Permanent Resident status.
I've been living and working in the US for three years now and won't be returning to HK to work in any foreseeable future. But I'm partial to HK & might return there to live (if I win the lottery), so am unwilling to lose my hard-earned PR status.
On the other hand, I've a nice stash in MPF and need it now, not later.
Any experience in this area?

Went ahead and filed for all three of my preserved MPF funds. Will take one month. I have faith that it won't affect my PR status one iota.
