ANZ HK does not like Macs!

Hoping you techie wizards have a work-around for ANZ internet banking website that does not support Macs.

I was told by ANZ tech support that 'most people had PCs' and therefore 'no plans to change to include Macs' when I suggested that a fairly large proportion of their customers might be as peeved as I am about not being able to access their accounts online!

Have downloaded Netscape Navigator 9 and enabled Java. Apparently also need VM (whatever this is) according to the FAQs on the website, but have reached the limits of my tech capabilities.

All suggestions/commiserations welcome! ML

Netscape Navigator is a four-year old browser so wouldn't really recommend using it. Navigator pretty much "begat" Firefox so I recommend you try Firefox. It supports all web standards and has both Windows and Mac OS versions. www.getfirefox.com . The "VM" they are referring to is a Java "Virtual Machine" so as long as you have Java installed ( here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1360 ) you should be ok.

If all that doesn't work there are more esoteric solutions but try it first.

May I also say that your bank's Internet banking policy is pretty boneheaded. Most people do have PCs but their policy is a great way to lose customers.

Try any government website, they are the same, but are even more restrictive to only IE and within that only certain versions of IE and Java...

Not a lot you can do...

Change bank and write them a letter explaining why.

There are web standards out there and FireFox follows them. IE does not. This sort of thing is a travesty.
