Can you advise me a minimum charge for print-ad royalty that my baby should recieve if they used her picture in......for up to 2 years

My kids do print adverts and toy packaging jobs and get paid for their job which is paid in a 2 hour lot in most cases and then there are no royalties. The images are free to be used by the company hiring us. We've found this works really well and from what I understand, royalties are only paid to the person funding the shoot, etc, not the model who is hired.

Its an Agency's RESPONSIBILITY to make sure the child gets a USAGE/ROYALTY fee for the use of their image outside the said shoot.
The child of course gets paid for the hours worked - normally $500 upward an hour and THEN should get a fee on top for USAGE. If its an Advertising Campaign, which this clearly is, then it should be a decent fee. Ie anywhere from 4-10k here in HK (and thats on the conservative side).
There are no Unions in Hong Kong hence no regulation, so basically its whatever the parent is willing to exploit their child for.
It frustrates me that these so-called "professional" Agencies take their 20% of a very minimal fee, yet cant do their homework or their jobs properly and hence take advantage of the naiveity of the parents. Most of whom have no experience in the industry. Adele78 clearly is one of these.

There are no royalties or usage fees for children's images because they change so quickly (that's the client's justification). Unfortunately, in HK, the agencies tend to be more of an advocate for the client than the talent. This is the working environment of HK and very difficult to change without unions and standards across the board. Also, the model/talent can join as many agencies as they would like to in HK and the client will scout the same model under different agencies and book the model with the agency that will provide the cheapest rates with highest usage.
