I'd like to have my two small Cambodian bronze statues made into lamps. The lampshades and plinthes are sorted, but I want to buy the supporting brass figurine tubes locally if possible rather than ordering online (minimum quantity 10 pieces) from UK or USA. I've tried the custom lamp shop near the temple in Hollywood Road - no joy there. Any other places to try?
Thanks.

Sorry for this very late thank-you, CAB - Henry Lampshades made perfect figurine tubes for me. [If anyone is looking to get lampy things made I'd certainly recommend him as he understands exactly what you're after, does a good job and his English is excellent.]
Now, I thought I'd got my plinths sorted on this work-in-progress but I haven't, so can anyone suggest where I can buy small pieces of cut to size wood for my lamp bases? I will stain the wood (and put baize on the bases) so it doesn't have to be a particular colour or type - I guess rosewood is commonly used mostly here. Would appreciate any suggestions as I really want to get my lamps made after years of keeping my poor little statues stashed in a cupboard! Thanks.
