My friend met a hong kong woman who use discriminating words like "you are locusts" and "you are from tyranny country" against her in public and threaten to film her and put her on the youtube and will call the police simply because my friend sat on a chair for few seconds when the woman's daughter occupied a whole table in a canteen. My friend said "if you film, I can also film", and her daughter thought she was filmed, so she began to cry loudly. The woman was using the phone all the time and eventually the police came. The woman lied that she had physical injury as my friend stroke her during the quarrel. The police said in this case, my friend must accompany her to the hospital and wait for the medical check-up. Later, the police said the Crime Investigation Department will be involved if my friend didn't say sorry to the woman in public. My friend was exposed in front of public crowd all the time when the police questioned her, but the woman and her daughter was put in a private meeting room. She was treating unfairly.Under this circumstance, what is the best way to do?

Now, my friend wants to sue the woman that she public insulted her with discriminating words. What can she do now?

Second, if the woman lied about she was beaten by my friend, can my friend asks the police to check the CCTV?

I don't for one minute believe your friend 'stroked' the arm of the other lady, that's not very believable in a heated argument. If I was your friend unless you have something incriminating on video I would just apologise and chalk it up to experience.

ALso don't touch, stroke, pat, fell whatever another person in an argument. Beancurd is right the person to contact the other person FIRST is usually at fault.

Thanks a lot for all your kind message. Yes, the woman just fabricated this story saying she was hurt and wanted go to hospital for the check-up in order to win over the argument. Even if there is CCTV in the restaurant, the police said they won't check it until the case goes to the next step. So my friend finally settle it with the woman and the police wrote "body contact is misunderstanding" on the paper. such a dramatic case! now we know someone can really take advantage of the law if they are a bold liar.

But my friend also feels that all the time she was treated unfairly by the police as they let her stand by the escalator for almost two hours when all the people passed by and stared at her, but let the woman stay in a meeting room. Only later she found this out and was really upset then the police said he didn't know it would last so long. But the police all the time tried to press my friend to say sorry to that Hong Kong local woman, for example, he said otherwise my friend will have to be under investigation by the criminal department. Maybe he thought that woman who report to the police knows the system better and know how to complain him?

Why would CID be involved? Is your friend an international drug smuggler or is she over-dramatising?

no, of course not, the police said if my friend has dispute with the woman over the pushing issue, as the Hong Kong woman lied that she was hurt and need to go to hospital. The police said if the medical check-up didn't show the woman had any injury, the CID would find evidence and to judge the case. But he didn't say anything about CCTV. My friend later realized they should always turn to the CCTV. And the police let my friend stand out in front of the escalator for two hours. When my friend talked to the senior officials, he asked, do you speak mandarin or English at that time? He also admits it was wrong to let my friend stand there .

Shall my friend make a compliant against the police?

CAPO ( Complaint against police officer) is the best way to complain against the police. Good luck!
