Houses under 30k close to central exist

Im moving back to hong ko g after a 4.5 year placement I. Vietnam we have been living in a huge house with pool and yard and my very busy sporty toddler loves it. I used to live in hk. I lived on tai hang road in a old building g when I left I paid 12,500 for 1500.sq now it's 26,000. My husband will work in central. I don't know areas outside Hk island well. Is it possible to get a large apartment or house for under 30 k ?where are nice communities for children mine is only 2?

We are looking for a nice expat area where it's easy to make friends, parks , shopping wow I know it's sounds like I want to much. I'd love some advise before I move and go see agents just so I have an idea of what areas to look thanks so much

I would like 4 bedrooms and maybe 3 bathrooms maybe a house large. I want a western style house with a nice kitchen and the place in good condition thanks for the help

I think you may have to set your standards a little lower ... rents are ridiculously high and you're not going to find what you want for under 30K ... if you can, there'll be thousands of us wanting to know where it is!


If you're prepared to live off the island, you will get more for you money in places such as Sai Kung, Clearwater Bay or Lantau, where you can get a house with garden or outdoor terrace for less than the cost of a shoebox on the island, but even then you'll find it difficult to find something within your price range with the criteria you have specified.
