The number of expatriates moving to Hong Kong has surged, but those newcomers who are parents of school-aged children are finding an acute shortage of spots at the top international schools.

I agree Madtown. From memory in 1997 there were nearly 45000 Aussies, 40000 Brits, 35000 Indians, nearly 45000 Americans. What most people do not count is the Numbers of Ethnic Chinese with Aussie / British passports who have also returned. Most of them tend to send their kids to ESF as well. There are a lot of Chinese families dissilusioned with the local school sytem of 40plus kids/class, the culture of cramming with no lateral thinking. We know many teachers and local families who talk about the frustration and helplessness but can not afford private education. Some are sending kids to boarding scvhools while others are relocating.

My children go to Rosaryhill School from P1 to P6. They love it. This school is the answer for us.
