I'm keen to go to Myanmar in October (Rangoon / Mandalay and Bagan) - any suggestions for the length of stay in each location? Is it worth going? 8 days / 7 nights!

Thanks,

BB

My suggestions:

- Yangon is very cool - 2 full days should be enough - Savoy is great value with superb service - do lunch at the Governors House hotel

- Mandalay - as the guide books say... not much to see or do but you need to pass through to go to this awesome place http://www.pyinoolwin.info/ (a full day there should be enough)

- Bagan is magical - one or two full days is good

- Lake Inle is also a must see - one full day should do it

I think you can do all of the above within 8 days.

As you traverse through Myanmar, you will meet and greet men wearing longyi, a skirt-like garment, women with faces smothered in thanaka, their traditional make-up, and betel-chewing grannies that look a bit like the extras in the next Dracula film. Meet talented monks as they show off their trained animals. Ride like you’re in the Wild West on the stage coach as you move through grand British mansions. Myanmar is really one overwhelming experience. Your 8 days / 7 nights will be a great time to enjoy the whole Myanmar. But to enjoy it more, you should share your experiences with your family and friends. Like what I have done. I assure that I will always call my family while I am abroad to give them information about my trip. I used the international calling service of voxcall. And that was really effective and sufficient to use. http://www.voxcall.com/
