Hi everyone,
Monthly salary of 40,000HKD a month, can a couple live off this salary and also is standard number of annual leave days 15?!
I know property prices vary, job based in kowloon
Would have to support us both til wife got a job, no accomodation allowance on top of this. Can expat wives find reasonable jobs in HK easily? Are there Visa restrictions on spouses working?
Would really appreciate your advice!!

40k is absolutely possible. Taxes are lower than most places but housing tends to be much more. Depends on your expectations. If you look a bit further afield in the New Territories, your money will go much further. Public transport is stellar so commute tends to be pretty ok.
Agree with mrsmith on the "gotchas" about salary and so forth. Ask lots of questions.

Depends entirely on her experience and skills. The main barrier tends to be language, but again depends on what she does.

Nope. If you have a work visa, your spouse can work.

It depends what role you have been offered in HK. 40k is reasonable, half of it would probably go towards acommodation/food/bills so you still save the other half.
