I believe you can do an advanced online TEFL course for around 500 USD or you can fork out a whole lot more and do one at the british council or the place in Cebu.
I'm curious as to why you would want to do one of these premium courses. Does the market (i.e people in HK wanting to learn English) recognise the value and is willing to pay more for an hourly session ?

If you are teaching adults privately, you could probably get away with a worthless online degree. I doubt most adults in a private lesson vet the tutor.
On the other hand, no reputable school will hire a 'teacher' who has an online degree on their resume. There is no practicum, meaning the 'teacher' likely doesn't understand the factors that play outside of delivering content (which isn't really teaching anyway).
Also, BC no longer does the TESOL in Hong Kong. The only really useful program is English for Asia's Trinity CertTesol program with practicum.
