Bicycle w/ pedal break?

Where to buy a simple basic women's bicycle with 3-5 gears, pedal break and 26-27 inch tires? Have checked a few shops, but all they have is bikes with hand break, which I cannot handle... will end up head over a**e in the bushes!

Have you tried the shops around Wood Road in Wan Chai?


Pedal brakes are unusual these days so I doubt you will find an adult bike with one. I don't think the derailleur gear systems in current common use are compatible with a pedal brake. You could just use the rear brake (right hand). That will give you the same effect as the pedal brake. However, the front brake (left hand) is way more effective given weight transfer during braking. It isn't really that hard to learn.
