Fortress sell a middle range Kenwoosd unit that works OK and you get local warranty and support. The big breadmaking sites recommend Panasonic and others but honestly the cheaper ones are just as good for everyday use in my experience and at 25% of the price if it fails buy a new one!

We use Kenwood. There is two model in HK. BM250 and 150. We use to use BM250 till it got spoilt (Dosent last long). the 150 model is smaller and has a smaller loaf of bread. The 250 makes better bread and has more function. Kenwood is the best IMHO.

We use flour from the supermarket (Oil,milk, sugar, salt). We also use yeast instead of baking powder. You will need to try various recipes and will get the hang of it after a few go's (The recipes in the kenwood booklet did not work. When it works, the smell of bread in the morning is super.
