What is it with the shops selling Indian provisions in Hong Kong. They seem to have decided its perfectly fine to increase prices by the week, if not by the day. And if you question them they come back with this 'take it or leave it' attitude, obviously well aware of the fact that there is no where else to go. Oh, and not to forget the story about how everything Indian has been banned and therefore the need to hike prices to compensate for all the trouble they take to get the stuff to HK (er, how come no one has heard of any such ban???).
Price of Nestle Dairy Farm Milk has gone up within weeks from HKD 85 to HK 125; Price of flour from HKD 35 to HKD 65; Pulses from HKD 12 to HKD 18....just to state price hike of a few things, within a span of 2-3 months.
Are there others like me who think its high time we do something about this mafia-like attitude of Indian grocery shop owners.
If you feel similarly, lets get together in condemning these monopolistic market practices. well, there's not much else we can do....so atleast get together and say 'shame on you!'
