Hi, I'm looking for a (fairly discreet, if possible) security chord with padlock that you use to tether lap-tops on desks, i.e. the devices they have in shops to stop customers nicking the gadgets. No one I asked at Wanchai Computer Centre or in Ap Liu Street could help - "all supplied by head office, no I don't know where they get them from", so I'm kind of stuck - unlike my lap top (actually, my small and too-portable amp, as that's what I want it for).
Best I could find was a chain but it's not really what I'm after. Anyone seen them on sale anywhere?
Should appreciate any ideas. Thanks!

I would go to Golden Arcade & Golden Centre in Sham Shui Po. That is by far the biggest computer centre in HK so you should find it there.
One slang term for the lock you are looking for is "Kensington Lock". It's a standardized device that fits into a slot on laptops, iMacs and many other devices.

Certain that I have seen them in the Computer Centre at 288 Hennessy Road. Axpat is correct, they are normally known as Kensington locks.
They are not hugely discreet though.

Many thanks, people! Will go see.
Green-Catalonia - my clever engineer of a partner has a cunning plan on how to secure to the Cyrus, having done something similar before. (And yep, I had one of those "duh" moments as soon as I realised I'd erroneously added an 'h' in cord!)

Typicall the other end of the Kensington Lock has a loop, so easy to attach to any beam, such as part of a desk for example.
