As we are new in Beijing and my age is 36 already, wish to know where can we consult good and experienced gynaecologist urgently. If possible, we may want to try IVF. Can anyone pls help. Thank you.

Is being 36 the only reason to choose IVF? I'm asking this, because IVF is not an easy procedure.
If you want to have IVF in Beijing, go to Beijing United Hospital and they can arrange a meeting with the Peking University Third Hospital. Maybe they can also arrange an interpreter to help you, because you'll definately are going to need help. The doctors speak (some) english, but it's very difficult to find out all the places you have to go to pay (6 different places), get your medicine (3 different places), have your labwork done (5 places), and so on.
I just had an IVF-cycle at the Third Hospital. Be very prepared to forget about privacy. There will always be other patients in the room when you're in. Even while having an intimate examination. On the other hand the only person having trouble with this was I so I learned to deal with it.

Do you have aproved problem, showing that IVF is your only option. The AVERAGE age of mothers giving birth at our two hospitals in beijing and Shanghai is 33, thatis half our mothes are OVER 33.

Actually, we have done operation to improve our fertility in Spore last year. I had an operation to clear my fibroid and clog in one of the fallopian tube. And, my husband had the laparoscopic varicocoelecomy to improve his low sperm count and quality problem. He is still taking certain medicine to improve sperm quality.
To my understanding, IUI and IVF are the good solution. However, IUI seems to have legal issue to be conducted in China. So, IVF seems to be only option.
My sister has succesfully given birth to baby boy thru IVF (2nd attempt). She told me that when you are approaching 40, the succesful rate of IVF will be slimmer. All these are the pushing factor to make me try to look for a good place in Beijing to start my IVF cycle.

What i understand is that is the blood flow that cause the problem. There should several blood vesel that have reverse flow from kidney that cause blood turbulance in the male organ. Subsequently, it cause the sperm damage. The operation (Laparoscopic variocoelecomy) can succesfully stop the continuous damamge and patient can take medicine to improve the sperm count and quality.
BTW, i have the question as tennis gal too.

Hi Dr Moreton, sorry to barge in but I am also based in Shanghai. Planning to go for IVF in the next cycle but wondering if there is any good acupuncturist around in Shanghai who has worked with IVF patients before. Also, which hospital do you recommend for the IVF in Shanghai whcih has the highest success rate and with the best doctors? How much is the cost? Will appreciate if there is any advice at all.
