I'm almost 36 weeks now (2 days to go!!) and it feels like the baby's head is now in my pelvic region - feels much fuller and stretched than before and I'm walking with a distinct waddle this morning.
Is this how it feels when baby has dropped, or have I just gotten fatter???!!!
Cheers

How exciting!!!
It seems like years away when our baby is due but I know the time will fly by. Can't wait to get to our due date - will be like waiting for Christmas....or amrmageddon, lol!
Good luck with the labour!!!!

Firsttimemom -
I thought it was that the baby had dropped also - but turned out the baby was just getting bigger and wriggling into the space - but not officially dropped. In neither of my pregnancies did i feel the baby drop - so enjoy the waddle stage - it's fun - you can quack like the duck that you feel and glow like the beautiful person that you are!

Vulvic, believe me, time FLIES!!!!!!!!!!!
Hkchoichoi - I think my case is similar to yours. My stomach still seems high, but I'm soooo much fuller in the pelvis. It could be that he's grown like hell in the last coupla days. He's moving, but his kicks are restricted and I can feel that.
He also has a lot of hiccups!!!!! just like his mother....

Hiccups! That's hilarious!

LOL. Yah, like a little drunken sailor. About twice a day. If you ever feel regular blips (well, you know what hiccups feel like), you know its not a kick, its the poor little bubbs going hic hic hic and not knowing what to do about it!!!!!!! At least I can drink a glass of water holding my nose...

Poor little mite. I never even considered that they could get hiccups. It's just amazing.

Cara, LOL! I hope your son has a better day tomorrow. What is the "wrong way" for a dog to look at a child? Poor thing!
Vulvic, yes, poor little tike, I know how much I dislike having hiccups myself. But its amazing what he's been up to - he responds when we talk to him, to music, clapping, singing, even chorouses - and its a different response... if I squish him (eg, lean forward a bit) he squirms and kicks in protest hahaha. We pretty much have a third person living with us already though we can't see him!

Oh how amazing! I actually find it touching reading your postings. I can't wait to experience all these. I'm currently in my 15th week, looking forward to the first kick of my little one. When exactly does baby start to react to music or sound? It should have developed ears long ago, but when does it start 'listening'?

Hi Nicher! too true, its been so amazing seeing this little being evolve, and though I cant sleep, eat or walk properly any more, I know I'm going to miss this time.
I first noticed little bubbly movements lower left abdomen when I was reclining at about 17 weeks, which got steadily stronger and more regular. At about 18+ weeks I noticed a distinct response to a buddhist chant a friend played, and some drum and guitar music. Response to voices came later though. If you are watching out for it, its amazing what you'll pick up on and how predictable they are!!! Have fun, its really a great ride!

The bubbley feelings have grown into a sudden 'dropping'feeling, usually in my lower abdomen when I lie back. It feels a little bit like when you're in a lift and it drops a few inches amd then springs back, really strange. This has been growing in strength and frequency the past week so I am guessing this me starting to feel the bubbs kick. I am now 21 weeks.
Cara I have a dog too, I guess I'd better teach her not to looks at the bubbs in an overly excited way. Thing is she loves kiddies and her whole body quivers with excitement whwen she sees them, lol!

To all the pregnant mommies -
enjoy the time you have now - it's easier taking care of the baby inside you before he/she gets out. But then again, the rewards after he/she joins the world are so awesome! My 2nd, now 12 weeks old, coos, smiles, giggles when she sees my face. i've been doing pushups over her (to get back into shape) and it's the greatest incentive to push up, and down, kiss her little face, and push back up and have her smile at me...I managed 40 pushups today - with my little coach.

Hi Firsttimemom,
So excited and happy for you, only a few more weeks. Let us know once you've given birth. I'm on my 16weeks+ now, don't feel any kicks yet. Looking forward to that. It seems just yesterday that we are trying to conceive, hope one day we can all get together with our babies ;-) Take care.

Oh my... sounds tough Cara. Lots of people told me the first year is the most dreadful one no matter how well-prepared you are. I guess it all depends whether baby is happy and daddy is supportive.... anyway I still have weeks to go. Better enjoy the 2nd trimester as much as I can for the time being~

Cara - please post more! I'm a first time mum-to-be and it's good to know the realities of having a child. At the moment it's all wine & roses and we are both so excited about our little 'guest' but I know we are going to be totally knackered when the baby finally comes.
Have been reading a great book that deals with the aftermath of birth and goes some way into preparing you for motherhood but books can only teach you so much.
Besides, your posts are highly entertaining.
HKchoichoi - push ups at 12 weeks, good for you!

That's what I plan to do! Am taking Maternity Leave from my due date onwards (assuming that the baby will come late). Will spend the remaining days wallowing in the pool.
