Tell-tale signs (a bit of fun)

My skin was terrible when I was pregnant with my daughter! LOL!!

Actually not sure how much morning sickenss plays into it, but people I know to have or are expecting girls, have had really bad morning sickness. Yet friends who never suffered from it, all had boys. Maybe it's just coincident.

I've also heard that people can tell the gender of the baby by the shape of the stomach but have no idea how.

My mum had a dream I was expecting a girl when I was 5 months pregnant with my first daughter and just last week she called to say she's had another dream that I'm having another girl! I will have to find out when my scan is due next week!

I'll know next week, but I didn't have much nausea, my skin has broken out and I seemed to have started showing earlier than normal.

My mother is sure it's a boy... hahaha

So let's see what we shall see next week!

I wonder where Simplythebest is - how is she progressing?

Oh - according to the Korean signs - i'm having a boy. (It's my second.) They base a lot of their conclusions on what the older sibling is doing.

Does he/she hang things around her neck? (Yes - boy)

Does he/she sit down bottom first? (Yes - boy)

Then for the mother- what color are your nipples? (sort of not so dark - then a boy - really dark a girl)

But we don't know - we chose not to find out. I did have a lot of pimples my first trimester - and my nausea with this one was horrific - I had really bad morning sickness for about 2 months. I had NONE when I had my daughter -

don't forget though - another wives' tale - if you are having a lot of heartburn - it means your baby is hairy. HAHAHAH

Koreans also believe you only eat BEAUTIFUL things to make a beautiful baby. Don't eat the ends of breads, only eat perfectly formed food, don't eat anything imperfect...sigh...if you didn't have enough to worry about already.

I've been told by my friends and family to look at beautiful things to have a beautiful baby, so wasn't allowed to watch horror movies for a while! LOL!

It's the first time I've heard of the dark nipples theory...interesting.

I'm going for my next scan/AFP test on thursday. I pray everything will be alright, and for you too, STB.

Well, I was told the reason my daughter always had a runny nose was because I didn't wear enough jackets (was too cold) while [regnant.

Go figure....so absurd.

Hiya STB!

Well, my evening queasiness dissappeared around week 13. Skin has not completely cleared and I'm showing in a big way, though the bump more out front than at the sides. And boy oh boy, stomach is considerably hairier!!

And yes, we know, its a boy. To be confirmed 100% at 20 weeks...

Weight gain is slow but steady. I have to start my prenatal exercises, but still am not getting a full nights sleep, so am tired when I wake. But I do have my energy back, and am eating ok. Still no cravings or huge hunger pangs. Touch wood!

Cheers

Oh, I forgot to say, about a week ago I started feeling a bit ticklish in my lower abdomen - now when I sit still, especially after a meal, I can feel some very definite activity going on in there... :D pretty sure its the bubba doing his thing.

Yes, finally I can show off the bump without people thinking I'm paunchy! From behind I look pretty much the same, and all my jackets etc still fit me, but the bump is very pronounced now. Gotta start the exercise. Maybe I'll go home now and do it!

I sleep on my left as advised, occasionally turning to the right and sometimes back. Last night I started feeling heavy sleeping on my back, so its likely thats the end of that!

Meantime, hubby is being a darling with the footrubs and massages and morning smoothie - he's really into this, and thats more delightful to watch than anything - wheeeeeee! I'm actually enjoying myself and this special closeness with the three of us!

Cheers!
