hi. anyone know the cost of int'l insurance (i.e., BUPA), yearly, and what those costs cover? Is pregnancy/delivery included? I currently have Blue cross/blue shield ppo with my husband's US based company, but that is only good in the United States. I'm not sure whether to get international insurance, and consider having a delivery of a baby here in China, or fly back to the States and have a baby in America. Any thoughts?

BUPA International premiums depend on your age and where you live.
It covers pregnancy after you've been a member for , I think, 10 months. You can get an instant quote online at:

Do a search on this thread for insurance. Few companies cover full maternity costs, most have a 10 month wiating period.
Allianz is one of the few that does cover full costs.
Contact http://www.kwiksure.com for more information on insurance, they advetise on this site and are very helpful. They can make you a 'chart' comparing different policies.
The international hospitals in Shanghai have excellent maternity rooms and services. If you take a 'tour' I am sure you will find that the rooms are impressive :)

I have Allianz which covers full maternity costs, 10 month waiting period. I bought from Kwiksure. Talk to Neil Raymond at neil@kwiksure.com or call 3113 2112. He is very good and professional :-)
Not sure about maternity services in Shanghai. Perhaps you can take cri's advice, take a tour at the hospitals there before making decision :-)
