I've always thought that the fetus gets a supply of nutrition from the placenta 24/7 whether or not I eat and that the body ensures it supplies the fetus anyway. I eat something at least every 2-3 hours, but when I'm very busy and forget, I can feel the bubbs getting impatient, he starts kicking and scrabbling around. And he does this faithfully every morning around 5:30/6 as well, forcefully waking me up. Does my empty stomach communicate itself to him somehow? Does the amniotic fluid taste different and he wants a refreshed taste? The mom's I've spoken to are not surprised and they said they've felt it too. Others have said their bubbs get more active after eating (and yes, that happens to me as well, but I feel an urgency in movement when I'm hungry)...
And of course, he's very active when there's beat music going on. We walked past a group doing the lion dance the other day and I had to shield my stomach with my arms, he reacted so...
I'd love to hear what everyone else has experienced...

I think your stomach is probably gurgling and rumbling with the hunger pangs - I used to get it too. I used to have a regular Friday board meeting at work and it was just before lunch and - my God - I used to sit there rumbling and the people next to me could see my daughter kicking and squirming around with the rumbles!! They all found it hilarious every week....

My little one is most active about 45 min to 1 hour after i eat and also sometimes in the mid afternoon.he always gives a few kicks just before I fall asleep and then once I have woken up after eating breakfast. My husband finally felt the bub kick today.. usually as soon as he puts his hands on my tummy the bub stops, but today he gave us 4 massive kicks and my husband was so amazed by it!

I read in a japanese book called "Talk to your baby" that baby can play games where mummy says "Let's play a kicking game" "Please kick once", and tap the tummy once, and the baby would react by kicking once, and you can elevate the stage from one kick to two kicks, three...up to 8 kicks. There were testimonies where mothers played it at around 7months onward where they have very accurate reaction from the baby. I am planning on doing that when I get to that stage!!! I cannot hardly wait!
