Hi,
I'm now 21 weeks pregnant and am trying to decide between Adventist and Cannossa. I went to visit the 2 hospitals this weekend and the main difference I saw was that at Adventist, they allow you to bring the baby into the rooms during the day (regardless of type of room) and you can see the babies in the nursery througout the day whereas at Cannossa, there are time restrictions and they don't allow babies in the rooms unless you have a private room.
The prices seem to be the same...Cannossa seemed to be more full though.
I would appreciate any thoughts/comments/sharing of experience at either of these hospitals, thank you!

Hi,
Congratulations on your pregnancy. If you would like to breastfeed your baby then go with the Adventist. It is really important that you are able to have your baby with you as much as possible or all the time if you can in the first few days. New born babies need to feed every 2 - 3 hours round the clock to get the colostrum they need. THis also helps your regular milk come in - usually around day 3 or so. The colustrum only comes out a drop at a time and the baby may only take a very small amount at each feed so really needs to be near you so he or she can feed when necessary or wants to. Also, it is lovely having your baby with you - I would have been lost if mine weren't there with me after the birth. It was fun just to look at them and hold them and lie on the bed with them - according to our own schedule not the hospitals. It is your baby... You need to do what feels right for you.
good luck!

Either way you'd better decide quick and book now. One note about Adventist is they now have people on waitlists... I don't know how that's going to work out.
