any mums 2 be going back to Australia to give birth?

I was just wondering if there were any other mums 2 be out there that are currenty living in Hong Kong but going back to Australia (sunshine coast/brisbane)to give birth that are due around june 2006.

If you were asking me why I am going back it is because I have three children already and as my baby's due date is around the time school breaks here I can take them back and live in our home in Australia over the summer break in HK. Also, we choose homebirth for our baby's birth and I do not feel I can get enough support in HK for this option without flying my midwife in from Australia.

I have private cover in Hong Kong and quite frankly it would be cheaper for me to deliver here rather than pay for all the children, plus helper and husband to go back for eight weeks. I am fairly confident the gov incentive is means tested so I am not going back for that one.

I birthed my other children back in Oz. My son flew back to HK at 12 days and my daughter flew back at 9 days.

Just my reasons anyway.

Hi Sasha, I am moving back to Australia, So I am going to have my baby there... I do have a choice if I want to stay in Hong Kong as my husband will be working here. But he will be busy for 2 months doing extensive trainng startig fom march. So I am going to go back to oz a little earlier. We will also have extensive rennovations going on at our unit complex here in h.k....so the sound of waves crashing on the beach during your early morning walk sounds really good right now.
