I may have misjudged my ovulation time arrrrrgh

I began testing on day 12 using Clearplan. Actually I noticed all the signs on day 11, but though that was just a lead up to the real thing. Its now day 14, and all the signs have vanished. I think I ovulated on day 11, and the LH peak had dissappeared by the time I tested. I had a huge headache on sunday (day 13), which I typically get mid month but didnt think to track before.

My cycle is 29 days. Is it possible to ovulate so early? We usually start TTC from day 11/12 to day 16 (alternating), and my pregancy signs kick in well before my period is due. I am now starting to think I've got it all wrong and I may be ovulating earlier than day 14 and not believing it.

This month I decided to be smart and only try one day before I ovulated (hence the testing), expected on day 16 (as all the books say, 14 days before period due). As a result, I may have missed the boat. Arrrrrrrrrrgh.

Is it actually possible to ovulate so early? Is this a bad thing?

Hi

My cycle is fix 29 days and generally i oveulate between d11 to d13. I think it is normal to ovulate Day 11. Do you also charting your BBT. It also helps to check your ovulation pattern. One more thing for the next cycle if you ovulate on D11 it means you should using OPK from D9 onwards

Ah well, now I know. Thanks Tillu.

OMG. I assumed I'd ovulate on day 15/16, so not wanting to compromise the quality of sperm in me at the time of fertilisation we umm practiced umm coitus interruptus on day 11/12. I saw signs of ovulation on day 10/11 but dismissed it as a lead up to day 16 and later was mad at myself for missing the date and not trying fully on day 11/12.

Well now I have obvious breast/nipple tenderness, lower backache and have been running to the loo all day, and its still almost two weeks to go before my next period.

I heard its possible to still get pregnant from practicing the "withdrawal" method, but really really didn't expect this! It would be just typical of my perverse body to play a prank like this on me.

This time I'm going to wait to test till my period date is passed. The signs are typical but I'm nervous of getting my hopes up and having them dashed again.

Please keep your fingers crossed for me that its real and will stick? I'm having a progesterone test on monday...

Thanks for readingxx

Well I hope it all works out this time. Fingers crossed for you!!

I just went in for a test today and was told that my follicles are not the right size for Day 11/12 so am going in again on 15/16 to see if they've grown. Then I have to see if there's a LH surge to accompany that (if not, it can apparently be injected then and there)....Oh, the complexities of the female anatomy

How do they test folicular size? By ultrasound? And what size should it be? Well I hope that all goes well for you and this cycle is successful.

As for me, if this is nothing, then I'd dearly like to know why I'm flushed, I seem to have raised temperature, though not a fever and the breast goings-on. and tired. very very tired. hmmph. Could it be a hormonal blip???

Yes, they test follicle size by ultrasound...and they should be around 18mm on day 14 or something like that.

I hope your feelings are familiar feelings....and I really hope it's good news for you. What day of your cycle are you now?

I'm on day 19 of my cycle. Symptoms started on day 16 - very early I know, but it was the same last month too. I thought they were ovulation systems, but these are totally unlike my ovulation symptoms, plus there was no spike in LH. Unfortunately, they're a bit a bit less today, and I'm less tired. I had a similar situation last month, discovered I was pregnant and then for some reason it didn't take. I'm doing a progesterone and preggy blood test on monday, whatever the outcome at least I'll know what my progesterone levels are and if that is the problem.

Cheers!

Oh, and another thing. They get slightly better when I rest, but as the day wears on it gets a bit worse. And my face gets hot. It may be just hormonal, but its dashed odd.

I hope the test turns out OK altho I was glad in a way that the doc was able to detect some 'problems' with me coz we've been trying for over 6 months to no avail. At least now we can fix the problems together and hope for the best. The other thing that made me go for tests is because I'm one year closer to being in my mid 30s and I don't want to leave this too late.

It's really worth the time and money doing these tests...hope your results are normal...and the doc should actually be able to detect whether you've conceived or not...fingers crossed!!

So preggy test was negative, and progesterone levels 14.1. Doc says this is normal.

The sore breasts were a real surprise, and I know I'm not imagining it, because I did not expect to get pregnant this month at all. What else could be causing it? I'm going to be a basket case soon.

Good to know the progesterone levels are good. Did the doc say what may have been the cause of sore breasts?

I went to my doc today and got another ultrasound done. Follicles are still growing and not ovulating yet...it's day 15 so I'm expecting to ovulate around day 20 on my cycle so have to go in again on sat morning to get amother blood sample to check the LH. Feel like a walking needle cushion these days!

Ouch!!! Well, I hope in time this is all nothing but a distant distant memory. I have a great friend who went through all of this and now has two darling twins two years old. She said she barely remembers those days.

So I hope that all will be well this cycle! Good luck!

The sore breasts are too too weird, does anybody get sore breasts with the flu? Could that be it??? anyway, its a bit better today. Maybe I need a holiday :D :D

Cheers!
