acrylic nails and c-section

i am having a planned c-section in two week. i have acrylic nails. Does anyone know if i have have the nails taken off before the operation?

i asked my doc today and he sid he had no idea but it shouldn't be a problem. I also asked his nurse (separately)and she was adamant that i have to take them off.

Should be no problem. They are inert, not connected in any way with the operation site, and cannot be absorbed through the nails into the system.

The concern is to see the colour of the nail beds as blueness is a sign of lack of oxygen but this is monitored electronically these days and the acrylic nails should be able to stay on if clear. If they are long the concern perhaps is more with the caring of the baby after.
