Hi, I am having a bad cold and minor cough. Currently I am 3 months pregnant. Can anyone please tell me some home tips for curing this cold since I am not supposed to have medicines. Thanks!

I survived the first pregnancy on one fresh lemon juice a day, with a pinch of salt, no water diluted. It's wonderful, I got through the whole SARS period, flu season, and colds... without getting sick once. Everytime I had a little scratchy throat, or feel I am coming down with something, I drink 1-2 fresh lemons a day... and not only did I maintain strong immune system, it helped my nausea, and my baby turned out particularly with nice fair skin... I am quite dark for a Chinese.
My friends all used this method since I told them, 4 went through pregnancies... without coming down with any colds or flus.
Now, my second pregnancy, same thing.... it's great. Try it... it's not acidic for your stomach as many thinks.... b/c my friends said they get stomachaches from acidic things.... but think about it, we use lemon juice to take away oil and grease....... it works like a soap. So, it's base... not acidic. So won't hurt your stomach. Just hard to get used to in the beginning b/c it 's SO sour... but beats taking medicine, or getting the common cold or flu.
Hope this helps.

BTW, this lemon juice method is recommended by one of my naturopathic doctors in North America.

Tylenol (also called something else here in HK) is ok too. DON'T use ibuprofren meds. And yes, there are antibiotics, nasal drops, and inhalers that doctors can prescribe for pregnant women as well.
Other than medicine, the following obviously help: good sleep, warm shower, good nutrition.
