Hello,
I have been trying for 6 - 7 months now to get pregnant without any luck. My husband and I are aware of my schedule as well as when I am ovulating. We are both in our early 30's, fit and healthy. Because of our jobs, there are ideal times for us to be pregnant and this upcoming month is not one of them. (Our contracts get renewed each May for the upcoming September to June school year) I am concerned about becoming pregnant this month knowing that our employer will not be happy if a baby is due to arrive in September. We are currently considering looking for work outside of our current jobs and suspect me being pregnant will affect whether I get a position or not. We had hoped to become pregnant within the first few months of trying and when that didn't happen we now no longer have the option of ignoring schedules or planning. Any advice or suggestions on any of the above??
Thanks!

1. How do you figure that if you get pregnant this month your baby will be due in September?
2. Waffle is correct about being protected by labour laws. Also if you're planning a job switch just do it before you start showing. You should have a few months to make a decision on this issue.
3. Having a child is one of the greatest joys anyone can know. Go ahead and keep trying - everything else will work itself out and you'll be glad that you didn't wait any longer.

I'm in the same profession and also on a contract which is due to be renewed in May AND I'm also trying for a baby at the moment. We had a recent case at the school I'm at where a local teacher was due in August therefore had to take the rest of September off. Every thing was OK and she's back at work now. Like waffle hk said, labour laws protect us here and there's no need to worry. All the best.

With Donald Tsang practically begging everyone to do their civic duty, I think there's more awareness in this area... :D
