how long it takes to find out gender

We are delighted to find out that we are going to have our first baby. I saw a thread that mentioned the gender can be found out within 5 wks, is it possible to find out so soon?

my father says that by ultrasound, easiest to see at 15 weeks. (he's an obgyn) something can be seen earlier, but it's not as accurate.

I saw mine at 16 weeks... it was reconfirmed at 20.

I found out at 12 weeks, and then it was re confirmed at 20 week scan.

I found out mine at the 14th week. Again I saw today after 23 weeks and it was correct. According to the literature genetal organs start to develop from 11th week but easily recognize at 15th week.

Gender confirmation can be done early (from around 7 weeks - age of embryo 5 weeks) by CVS sampling, which is an early (invasive)procedure requested by some for early detection of foetal chromosonal abnormalities. Perhaps this is the type of thread you saw the information on. Most CVS is not done until 10 weeks in Hong Kong.

i used a product from a supplier in hk, used to find gender in 7wks...take a blood sample and send it off for dna testing. can't remember name, but email is production_jib@yahoo.com, i think!~~good luck
