Hi am quite new to HK. Have just found out I am pregnant, I have been recommended a couple of names to try out, one is Dr Dawkins and the other is Lucy Lord. I have heard Dr D is pretty good....but sooooo laid back...maybe a bad thing for a first time mom who is a bit worried.., and Dr L is excellent but brusque..have any others got any experiences of these two docs that could help me make a decision. also my friend who recommended Dr Dawkins saw him when he was in the princes building, apparently he has moved but she does not know where.

Dr. Sally Ferguson is great for first time moms. She's with the Trodd group. Her office is located in Wanchai. Her number is 2824-9112. She's going to deliver my baby in the next month. She's been wonderful and totally supportive.

Dr Christine Choy (tel 3112 0480) is the best ob/gyn in Central. She is a very caring doctor/surgeon who spends time with you and puts you at ease. Wonderful.

I spent about HK$10 000, for multiple consultations with Dr Dawkins, and he still could not diagnose my problem, then went to the Queen Mary Hospital and they had all the answers for me. (my treatments at the Queen Mary were only HK$100 per consultation)

I had Dr Ghosh and he was wonderful and professional. Ghosh is also a popular Professor in HKU. His clinic is in Shui On Centre 3/F, tel 2877 3118. His nurse Sonia was always friendly and helpful even I called her a fews to check if I should take panadol, piriton...

Had a consultation with Dr Dawkins, and found him to be very straight forward and to the point. If that is what you want excellent. I went in for an opinion and if he wanted he could have made some quick money, and it wouldnt have hurt me as well since insurance was covering. But he was very genuine with his opinion.

i am seeing Lucy Lord and find her to be great. She is very direct and straight to the point but really knows what she is doing. I think a lot of her moms are in their mid/ late 30's or older and I have heard that she is very experienced with high risk pregnancies. I saw Sally ferguson once or twice and found her to be very dismissive towards my quesions so did not continue with her. Other moms have told me that is you need a lot of hand holding and fussing then Lucy Lord is not for you however this is my first pregnancy and i think i am probably as high maintenance as the next new mom and i have found Lucy to be supportive and reassuring at each of my visits.I guess it all comes down to personal choice.
