All you moms out there with a few more weeks to go, how are you all feeling now?
I'm also curious to know how the shopping/baby preparations are coming.
Happy home stretch...?

Hi firsttimemom
I have about 3 more weeks to go and can't wait! I've got to the point where my baby is heavy and I can't even go shopping for very long as tireness creeps in very quickly, but in saying that I have managed to buy all my essentials early and now just doing the waiting game...ha ha
I'm hoping the baby will arrive slightly early (to coincide with my daughters school holidays :)) so have been doing my 'fitmama' exercises hoping this will help.
Other than that, healthwise I am doing really well except I've had a slight swelling of my feet in the last couple of days (not very attractive!) so will have to cut down on my water consumption.
I've also put on about put on about 30lbs!!! arrrhhhh !!!
How are you feeling and are you ready for the big day?

3 weeks more! Woweee. At three weeks I will be attending and presenting at a 3 day conference (thank god its in Hong Kong). I'm just wondering if I'll have the energy to keep going then, because my stomach is really heavy now as well and I can feel the tiredness in my legs if I stand more than 5 minutes. And there are days when the belly is heavier than usual. i'm going to use this weekend to buy baby clothes. I'm torn between keeping things to a minimum and stocking up on "essentials" - not sure where to even draw the line!!! I've been warned that "essentials" are often not so essential after all and that a newborn doesnt require much at all...

Hi firsttimemom,
Here's a link that has a checklist of the "essentials". Hope it helps. http://www.tinytotlot.com/index.php
I'm so excited for you. Take care.

I know what you mean about buying too much. With my daughter I think I bought the whole of Mothercare thinking I would need everything :) This time round I really have bought the essentials and nothing else. I haven't even bought nappies yet as I have requested to my friends that I don't want anything fancy for presents, just the essentials..ha ha they thought I was mad!
I hope your conference goes well but make sure they have a seat for you in case you get tired as I'm sure your belly will be even more heavy by then. I'm actually glad I've stopped working now as I don't think I could concentrate for a whole day and would feel so tired, though in saying that, I do sometimes feel that my brain is starting to rot...ha ha!

Hiya Honeypie, Happychick, STB and wai tai tai!
Honeypie, thanks much for the link!
Happychick, yesterday I went and collected several things from a pal who's baby boy turns one soon, so that eliminates the moses basket and bouncy chair. She also has a baby gym shes bequeathing to me; She told me to get the Dr. Brown bottles from Mothercare and I'm going to pop round to Jusco just now to see what I can get there by way of vests etc for the bubs. Apparently the Japanese stores have loads of reasonably priced stuff in packs. Yes, and they'd jolly well better have a seat or two for me heh!
STB howdy! On the days I get a good nights sleep I'm up and doing the exercises. They REALLY help, but they are much less often than I'd like. And course the pelvic floor ones :D. I'm trying to get in everything this weekend, cause in the next couple of weeks I doubt I'll be able to stand, let alone walk!
Wai tai tai, wow, how are you feeling? Scared, ready for battle? heh! Are you going VB or C?
To be honest, I'm really more scared for my baby than for me during the birthing process. All I can do is prepare myself and say millions have women have walked this way before and if they can do it, so can I and the bubbs will be fine!!

Hi there, I have 7.5 weeks left to go too....feel pretty good. Was a tad bit emotional last week but am back to my cherpy self this week. I have just finished setting up the nursery tonight with a lot of help from my mum and dad and have been busy washing all the baby clothes sheets and blankets. sleeping has been ok for me,if the baby wakes up in the night and starts kicking, I have some small juices (like a poppa or fruit box drink)next to the bed and just drink juice and it seems to settle the baby down and i get a few more hours sleep.I have a birthing class on saturday for the full day so hopefully I will know a bit more about what to expect during labour.
the only thing is people keep asking if I am having twins!!!I did not really think I was so big..but I guess I am.
good luck to everyone....
