Believe it or not I was only 55kgs before then I gain 25kgs in total of 80kgs!!! Now im struggling to lose this weight and starting to feel frustrated.I tried to exercise 3x a wk and eat small amount of food but is there any diet pills to be in shape faster? So far I am 72kgs but so desperate to lose all the excess baggage before my baby turns 6 mths. Any help??? Thanks!

9 months on, 9 months off is the general rule.

If you are breast feeding, you have to be careful about dieting. Generally women who breastfeed will lose all but the last 5 lbs as your body needs it to support the breast feeding.

Breast or bottle feeding you can swim, walk and the best thing for your belly is PILATES, it will get your core muscles back in shape and that is the most important aspect of 'recovering' from pregnancy.

Don't worry, it will go, it just takes time.

i also used to take my baby out for a long brisk walk every day in the afternoon. we used to walk 6 km a day on top of a workout in the gym in the morning.

but as crj says, 9 months on, 9 months off. i also gained a huge amount when i was preggers, and it really did take me a long time to shed it.

don't worry, your body will get rid of it in time but it does take time. forget those magazines where the stars shed it after 3 weeks...in the real world, it just doesn't happen!!

also - weight training. Building your muscles back up slowly instead of just cardio. Muscles burns more calories than fat, so getting a good strong muscle base will help you lose more calories.

it takes time - and once you start chasing your baby around -don't worry it'll come off. You shouldn't stress out about it.

There are some studies that show that a diet that is rich in calcium (milk, yogurt) helps women lose weight and hold on to muscle.

Also - women who sleep better, have regular schedules with good sound sleep lose weight faster than those who aren't sleeping well.

thanks for all of your replies! Actually, I dont breast feed for some personal reason and I dont have a helper at home. So as of the moment im in charge of all sort of daily chores! But its my decision.I thought it will help me to lose my weight doing everything on my own, but it ends up not enough.

I agree with all your suggestions because you've been there once, I just dont feel good about my weight that it turns to insecurities...so sad!

After my first baby i lost almost everthing within 6 months. After second baby i gained 50 lbs and keept it on for a year and a half. Made me feel terrible about myself. Once baby was 1 1/2 i went to the gym and drank like a lemon tea. in the morning. A woman who lost like 80 lbs told me to try it. I cut a lemon in half and squeeze it into hot boiled water. No sugar added. I drank a whole pot in the morning then took both my kids put them in to the double stroller and walked around the neighborhood and to the park. I let them play, chased them around then came back home for lunch and nap. At the gym i had a fitness specialist help me in the bad mommy areas..... and worked it out pretty good. Then i came to china and lost even more from eating good healthy unjunked american food YAY! haha but now im pregnant and got to do it all over again.

Try the lemon water thing in the morning. Cleans you out and then try walking around a bit. Oh and hey if you have to do chores and stuff you should try putting on some high beat music and dance around the house as you clean and do chores that way you are also getting a cardio while cleaning!

Good luck and you will lose the weight!!!! Have faith in your body and yourself!!!

lemon juice is a diuretic. It has been shown to help reduce bloating and release toxins on some level. This could be good.

the whole sleep thing - I know...I think it's no wonder why mommies gain weight. we never get to sleep properly and then during the day we never get to eat properly - and it gets all messed up.

Generally, stick to exercise and proper food and wait for the results! Ok I get it. I can't be sexy again in few weeks hahaha...but I can't help myself to be in a hurry! Stubborn mom huh?!

I remember wishing that it would take 1 week to get it all off. I was felt like i needed to be the same again... Now i am a bit more patient having done it 2 times and almost 3.

Just know your body will go back just takes a bit of time. And even though now it may not seem like it but its the healthy way of doing it. if you lost say 20lbs in one week and continued well that probably wouldnt be the best for your body.

Go at your own pace and dont use the scale to weigh yourself everday. Try once a week or once every 2 weeks. Its not all about the weight you lose but the fat vs muscle gain too.

good luck hun!!!

After child birth, Pilates is an excellent way to get back into shape due to it’s focus on core strength. It helps to achieve a flatter stomach and to maintain a good posture whilst carrying your baby, reducing the risk of back injuries. It also focusses on strengthening the pelvic floor muscles and lower abs - great for toning up the wobbly stomach after pregnancy. Hope this helps! Good luck!
