Midwifery in Guangzhou

Hi there,


My friend is studying to be a midwife in England. Besides doing mandatory placement training in Hospitals, particpating in home-birthing, etc. which she has almost finished,she must take on an independent placement in a hospital of her choosing to gain broader experience, alternative approaches, etc.


I've suggested it would be great if she came to stay with me for 6 months and work/ study in Guangzhou.


I'm not sure how open Chinese hospitals would be to taking on a student midwife but am hoping I've come to the right place to ask.


I've seen advertised a few midwifery 'Tours' of China which take you around different cities and rural areas in China, but I think a settled placement would be best.


Could anybody advise me if they know if this has been done, or if not just opinions would help and maybe the name of any hospitals you think might be interested?
