I'm not pregnant at the moment however I was just wondering if anyone has had their baby here in Hong Kong and what they thought of the medical system and facilities? If I was to have a baby would you recomend having it here or back home (Australia)?

I recently delivered at Adventist and it is a lovely facility. The nurses are friendly and very helpful. The food is excellent. If you have insurance, there is no question about givign birth here in HK in the private system. I am from Canada and I believe the medical care here is far better than there! Monthly ultrasounds and 4D ones if you want! Adventist is also convenient --not such a far taxi ride up the Peak. I just posted a thread about Dr. Ho OB/GYN-he's great. He delivers at Matilda and Adventist. AsiaXpat is a great place to find out a lot of information. Good luck.

Whatever you decide Emma31, dont have your baby public in HK!

You will hear many who had excellent experiences public, I had a horrible time, so all I will say is go private.

It expensive but at least you & your baby have good chance of having a decent delivery in HK.

All the best :)
