In Vitro Maturation (IVM)

I have 2 failed IUIs.Very disappointing. Am looking for alternative infertility treatment in HK before contemplating IVF. Has anyone heard of the IVM technique or is undergoing this treatment itself in HK? Kindly share your experience or knowledge in this. Greatly appreciate it

IVM is only done so far by one doctor. Dr. Leung who is partner with Dr.Doo at the women's clinic in Central. I do think the IVM's were done via the public system because its subsidised by the government and still in development phase here. Only 3 women so far in HK who have been successful with IVM. There was a big newspaper article on this a few months ago in the SCMP.

Dr Leung does do them privately but note that the price for IVM and IVF is very similar. This is due to the amount of time the embryologists have to "look after" the embryos. Once you have your consult (note they are very busy for first it may be a while till you see them then for the actual apt you can also wait quite a while. If you are prepared then it is ok. you could wait a long time so be prepared)and he agrees to you trying the procedure. He tells you all the stats etc. You would go back on a day 2 of your cycle for bloods and ultrasound. If there are not many follicles there then they may give you a couple days of fertility meds like Gonal F. from then on it is like IVF - the retrieval and the replacement. The main diff being less or no time on meds. I think there has been faily good success rate so far but that is without knowing all the criteria of the patients such as age, history etc.
