I'm trying to work out when my ovulating days are and I've read that for a 28 day cycle then ovulation occurs on the 14th day after pevious period or 14 days before next and so on. I stopped taking the pill 8 months ago and have since established a regularity in my cycle which seems much longer than the norm. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether this means that I should ovulate around the 22nd day after my first period or 22nd days before the next. I'm 34 years old and know that my chances of conceiving cannot be determined by such calculations but I just want to get a rough idea. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

check out www.babycenter.com
enter your info and dates and it will check everything out on an ovulating calculator.
alternatively, use an ovulating kit from the pharmacy

Most women have a 14-16 day luteal phase which is the time after you ovulate till the day your period comes. For 36 day cycle, you should ovulate on day 20-22. You can always use ovulation predictors. Also, observe the days that you have egg-white mucus. Good luck!
