How do you store a grounded jet?

Boeing 737 MAX planes have been grounded for over half a year now.

Boeing has continued to manufacture more of these troubled aircraft until just recently, when they stopped production altogether, but there is a huge backlog of unsold, undelivered, completed Boeing 737 MAX planes stuck in limbo as in parked in massive outdoor parking lots.

This presents a problem for Boeing because just as homes left vacant for long periods go to pieces so too do airplanes suffer from lack of use.

In extremely cold weather the tyres of an aircraft may freeze to the asphalt.  Engines will corrode if left dormant and seals will dry and crack if fluids do not circulate throughout the aircraft on a regular basis.

Doors must be left open every so often to prevent heat from damaging the interiors of the planes.

The costs of maintaining these grounded Boeing 737 MAX planes continue to mount as do the losses from the inability to sell the 737 MAX due to the uncertainties surrounded the plane's future.   These issues are impacting the share price of the company and the longer this crisis persists the worse becomes Boeing's financial position.

None of the major airlines home-based in HK including Cathay Pacific or Dragon Air operate the Boeing 737 MAX in their fleets.
