Sai Kung is a great little village, good beaches and country parks near by, great days out on boats to the remote beaches, nice supermarket, bakeries, restaurants etc. There is a very large expat community lives out that way. Its probably not as convienient for families as DB because things are further apart, its definately easier with a car, but personally I think it has much more atmosphere than DB. By car you can be in central in about 35 - 40 mins depending how far into Sai kung you live. Many people put up with the travelling for a much better lifestyle.

is clearwater bay a good option? how would you rank clearwater bay to discovery bay for

1) travel to central

2) clean air

3) things to do

4) for kids

5) value for money (rental)

Clearwater Bay doesn't have an International school, its ESF but still very good. Agree rentals are higher, unless you go further in like Sheung sze wan, or Lobster Bay where you can still get a 4 bedroomed villa for low to mid 20's. There is only 1 English kindy, Abacus, but there's a couple in Sai Kung.

Ok everyone, need a good recommendation for a great real estate agent in clearwater bay area. Have been looking for sometime but can't seem to get the right place. Good Agents please - it just been a bit of a let down as I know there are properties out there but just can't seem to find what I need.

We used Teresa at Ricacorp in Marina Cove, about 16 months ago. She was great, brought up in England so very easy to talk to and get along with. We were also recommended Marco at Eastmount properties (in Sai Kung), met him once he seemed really nice.

If opting for a house around the Razor Hill area check for the outdoor electric cables around which are deemed to be a health hazard. I've also heard of a case in Razor Hill where the indoor wiring and computers crashed during a storm.

surely your computers crashing in a storm could happen anywhere if you leave them plugged in.

David or Christina of i.land at the Shopping complex on Clearwater Bay are also very good and have excellent English. Good Luck.

CWB is a great place to live

don't agree with cd about rents in Lobster Bay or Sheung Sze Wan being cheaper though - they have increased LOADS over the last 6 months - especially in SSW where houses are now 40k plus.

Not surprising tho as it is a lovely little village - best in the area I think.

We are in DB. Quite boring actually, but it works for us...close to airport for pilot hubby and nice things to do for little one (lots of friends very close by). Sai Kung/CWB has loads more atmosphere.
