Is it realistic for a couple to try looking for an apartment in North Point (near the park) for under HK$8/10K?
It doesn't have to have facilities like a gym or pool or anything as long as its relatively quiet and the building is well maintained.

I've just moved from NP after living there for many years. So know it well, but I have no idea what park you are referring to. There is a bit of greenery near Healthy Gardens. Is that the area you mean?

Hello, thanks for the reply.
I was thinking of the Braemer Hill park but any park would do. We like a little greenery.

Braemar Hill - or North Point Mid-Levels, as the estate agents fancily refer to it as - is not cheap; it also has larger apartments, i.e. 1000+ sq ft. Typical prices are:
Braemar Hill Mansions: 25+K
Beverly Heights: 17+K
Tempo Court: 15-30K
Pacific Palisades: 20-50+K
There are some places which might be in your price range with a bit of greenery closer to Tin Hau or Quarry Bay MTRs.
It depends on the individual apartment but you could look at Tin Hau Temple Road (the end nearer to King's Road), a few places along Cloudview Road. There is also Lily Court in Tai Hang where some properties have green views.
So my advice is to go to Tin Hau MTR and check out the agents around Tin Hau Temple Road, near the Wellcome, as I feel you would be more likely to find something within your budget and a glimpse of greenery there.
And remember when with dealing with HK estate agents to always aim low with your budget because they will aim high. And always state your budget is inclusive of government rates and management fees. And don't feel bad if they put down your budget as being too low.
Pre-1997, back in the heyday of HK property prices, I walked into a North Point property agency and asked about properties for 10K. The agent sat there, laughed at me and disparaging announced to all and sundry that there was nothing in NP for THAT price.
Good luck.

Hi Aruru, thanks for the tips. Especially the part about how to deal with property agents.
