Hello,
I'd like to be on the island line or in TST as a friend and myself are coming to HK to find work.
It seems impossible to find anything with 2 beds for under $20k
I have enquired with ALL of the serviced apartments listed on asia-expat and have had no luck
What other options do I have?

Serviced apartments are your best bet but if you don't mind roughing it there are some exceptionally seedy hotels (building grotty but room clean) next to the up-market Lee Garden Shopping mall in Causeway Bay. They are principally used as love hotels for the not so rich and famous. They normally charge HK$200 to people looking for a quicky but they probably also do monthly rates. You could also try the Eden on Wellington Street - which is an upmarket love hotel. The decor in the downmarket Causeway Bay lovel hotels is 'slit your wrists' depressing but they are safe (you don't get nutters or junkies roaming the streets in HK). You may be lucky and find a landlord but most would be reluctant as you don't have a job or regular income. By the way, do you have a visa to work in HK?

Hello Loyd Grossman is Miss Venezuela,
Thanks for your advise. It sounds a bit worrying staying in love hotels!
No i don't have a visa, but will be applying for large companies in grad+ roles. I've been told by someone out there once getting a job the visa is no issue..

Have noticed some of the share apartments listed here are quite sizable with more than one bedroom offered all furnished well within your budget though maybe not in the mainstream of city activity adding some travel time, but, maybe worth a start.
