I am thinking of buying a village house in Clearwater Bay, I signed a contract with an agent who showed me the house. The contract was valid for three months and has now run out. Can I go directly to the owner and deal with him, without using an agent?

Technically I believe you can go directly to the owner, but morally it's disgusting you should proceed in this matter. The agent has the listing with the vendor, you as a purchaser enter an agreement with the agency/agent and he/she listens to your requirements finds the appropriate properties is working for you makes the appointment(s) to make viewing(s), takes you to the the viewing(s) makes the introduction and now you want to go direct. That is very underhanded. It would be very sad to see Asiaxpat print or promote this type of behaviour

Actually, all the agent did was show us one house one time. After that he did very little other than lie to us on two occassions. I will never be using her again and feel absolutely no obligation morally and have none legally.

Have you consider finding another agent who can show you the same house? I atually found my agent very very helpful when i bought mine - help me take care of a lot of details. (i am a first time buyer)
