Hi all,
The Grand Waterfront is at the top of our list as a place to live. It's new, big, reasonably priced and close to both my work (in IFC) and kids schooling.
Does anyone live there by any chance? Opinions?
Thanks.

The flats are small size there with low ceiling height, the building is in a really rundown area also. Not a place for expats. Too much fancy stuff going on there to sell the poorly laidout flats
Not sure how you will get to IFC from there ?

Definitely not an expat area and I agree the layout of the flats isn't the best (my biggest complaint). The building itself is new. Guess we will find out in a few months if its nay good. No complaints so far.
There is the north point ferry then train to HK station or bus directly from the building to IFC.

Good luck. You may run into an ex Miss Universe living over there, part of the advertising campaign we were all led to believe she would be living there.

Yes, you will find there is a blog on the web that really rips into that place. It's funny how life is different here, people fight over each other to buy places in the newest highrise concrete jungle, where I come from almost no one in their right mind would want to live in a tower block. besides most of us would not be qualified to either.

To be frank I would rather live somewhere a lot more green like Sai Kung or even disco bay. However they are just too far away from work and school.
If I could work from home on occasion that would make life a lot easier. But that doesn't seem to be something that they promote here.

Hi qpzmgh,
Can you tell me which ESF school they go to and how long (and how) you get to central? I work in IFC specifically.
And what your general opinion of Sai Kung area?

yes my kids go to Abacus which is kindergarten school - its good. there are also primary & secondary school options nearby. The commute is easy either a 30 min trip on MTR from Hang Hau or drive takes about 25 mins. sounds like a long way but you get used to it and the improved quality of living in Sai Kung is the main benefit i feel.
