Proposed Cap on Corporate Bonuses

Wall Street bonuses have become the center of a brewing storm; with a Democratic senator having proposed capping the salaries, perks, stock options and other allowances of employees of companies that are currently the recipients of governmental aid. The White House has concurred with the measure and much more appears likely on this interesting and contentious issue in the days to come.

Senator Claire McCaskill has suggested that the law should prevent executives from minting more pie than the $400,000 per annum that the US president earns. This moratorium would continue until the company ceases to receive federal aid from such programs as the TARP {Troubles Asset Relief Program}.
