3 Month Break Clause

I need to find a new place to live. Unfortunetly I know my company will be laying off people in 3 - 6 months time. I am not sure if I will loose my job or not but I will not be able to pay the rent if I do loose my job what are the chances of getting a 3 month break clause written into a contract. My work visa will also expire around the same time as the layoffs. If my visa expires and I have to leave HK am I liable for the rent until the end of the contract. If I don't have a work visa I can't work so how can I cover the rent. It seems to be a catch 22 situation. My current landlord is not renewing my lease I have family and a dog so I am unable to get a serviced appartment - any suggestions.
